Hook sequences consider tracks with the Type 'Song' when using Track Group Random or Coming Up modes. If your commercials are currently being included in hook sequences, this means they are classified with the Type 'Song' instead of 'Commercial'.
PlayIt Live determines track types automatically when set to 'Inferred'. The system uses these rules in order: if your Tags field contains a track type like "Commercial", that type is assigned; if your Artist or Title field matches a track type, that type is used; if the duration is less than 30 seconds, the track becomes "Station ID"; otherwise, the track defaults to "Song".
To exclude commercials from hook sequences, you need to change their track type from 'Song' to 'Commercial'. Go to Manage > Tracks, select your commercial tracks (you can filter by searching or sorting), and change the Type field from 'Inferred' or 'Song' to Commercial. This will exclude them from hook sequences, which will then only pull from tracks marked as Type 'Song'.
Alternatively, you can use the Tags field to automatically classify commercials by adding "Commercial" as a tag to your commercial tracks. When the Type is set to 'Inferred', PlayIt Live will automatically assign the Commercial type based on this tag.
