Get help from ChatGPT or Claude

The Markdown file contains the complete PlayIt Recorder manual in one plain-text file, which you can give to an AI assistant so its answers are based on the real documentation rather than guesswork. This works with both the free and paid versions of ChatGPT and Claude.

First, download the file: right click the MD link above and choose Save link as… (your browser may word this slightly differently, for example Download Linked File). Save it somewhere you can find it again, then follow the steps for whichever assistant you use.

ChatGPT

1. Go to chatgpt.com and log in.
2. Open Projects and create a new project.
3. Name it PlayIt Recorder 2.03 Docs and select Create project.
4. Under Sources, click Add sources, select Upload and choose the MD file you just downloaded.
5. Click the three dots at the top of the project, select Project settings, and paste the instructions below into the box.

Claude

1. Go to claude.ai/projects and log in.
2. Click New project.
3. Name it PlayIt Recorder 2.03 Docs and select Create project.
4. Under Files, click the + icon, select Upload from device and choose the MD file you just downloaded.
5. Click the + icon next to Instructions and paste the instructions below into the box.

The same wording works for both assistants:

This project answers questions about PlayIt Recorder version 2.03, using the PlayIt Recorder manual attached to it.
Answer only from that manual, say which section the answer came from, and say so plainly when the manual doesn't cover something.

Any question you ask inside that project will now be answered using the full PlayIt Recorder documentation. Always start your conversations from within the project. Questions asked outside it won't have the documentation to work from.

AI assistants can still get things wrong, so please check anything important against the documentation itself.
