Tags are a way to organise and categorise your audio files in PlayIt Live. You can assign one or more tags to each track, which helps you group related items together. For example, you might tag tracks by decade (80s, 90s, 2000s), genre (pop, rock, classical), mood (upbeat, relaxing), or any other category that makes sense for your station.
Once you've tagged your tracks, you can use these tags to create Filtered Track Groups that automatically select tracks based on your criteria. Here's how to set this up:
First, assign tags to your tracks by going to Manage > Tracks, selecting the tracks you want to tag, clicking Edit, and entering your tags in the Tags field. You can assign multiple tags to each track by pressing Enter after each tag.
Next, create a Filtered Track Group by going to Manage > Track Groups and clicking Add New. Select Filtered Track Group and click OK. In the Edit Filtered Track Group window, click Add to add a new filter condition. From the Field selector dropdown, choose Tags. From the Operation selector, choose either Contains or Does Not Contain. In the Filter value box, enter the tag you want to filter by (for example, "Christmas" or "80s"). As you build your filter, the Matched tracks list will update to show which tracks match your criteria.
You can combine multiple tag filters using the And/Or selector. For instance, you could create a filter like "Tags Contains Christmas AND Year >= 2000" to select only modern Christmas tracks. Once you're happy with your filter, click OK to save the track group. This group will automatically update as you add new tracks with matching tags to your library.
