What does the circle with a cross icon mean?

The circle with a cross icon indicates that the item will be skipped over during playout. This can happen in several situations:

When loading fails:

PlayIt Live attempts to load tracks into players ahead of when they're due to play (typically 2-3 items in advance). If the system cannot find or access the audio file at that point, it marks the item to be skipped. A warning will also appear in the notification bar at the bottom of the main interface stating "Failed to load: file does not exist".

Soft deleted items:

Items that have been soft deleted by clicking the Bin/Trash button will be skipped during playout. These can be restored by clicking the Restore button. Soft deleted items remain in the log but are marked not to play.

Fixed Time Markers:

Items can be marked to skip if they would prevent a Fixed Time Marker from being reached at its target time. Protected items (shown with a shield icon) are immune to being dropped by Fixed Time Markers.

Voice tracks without recordings:

Voice track items that haven't had audio recorded yet will display a placeholder and be skipped during playout until the voice track is actually recorded.

No automatic retry:

There is no automatic retry mechanism once an item has been marked to skip. If you want to attempt loading the track again, you would need to remove the item from the playout log and re-add it. Before doing so, verify that the audio file exists at the expected location and check your file paths using Tools > Missing Track File Analysis to identify and resolve any missing files.
