Track ID is a text field used to match tracks in your PlayIt Live database with tracks in an external scheduler. This is particularly important when importing playout logs from third-party scheduling software.
When you export a playout log from an external scheduler in PIPL (PlayIt Playout Log) format, it references tracks using their Track ID or full path to the file. Many external schedulers do not store the full path to the track file. As such, PlayIt Live uses these Track IDs to match the imported log entries with the correct tracks in your database, ensuring the right audio files are scheduled for playout.
How to bulk update Track IDs:
If you need to assign Track IDs to multiple tracks at once, you can use the CSV import/export feature. Go to Manage > Tracks, click the CSV button at the top right, and select a location to save the CSV tracks file. Open the exported file in Excel or Google Sheets, then add or update the Track ID values in the appropriate column. Save your changes and return to PlayIt Live. Click Manage > Tracks > Add New, select the From a CSV import file option, select your updated CSV file, and import it back into PlayIt Live. The system will match existing tracks and update their Track ID fields accordingly.
This bulk update method is much faster than editing Track IDs individually through the track properties window, especially when working with large music libraries or when initially setting up integration with an external scheduling system.
