Why do newly added songs all appear when I turn Log Scheduler ON?

When you add new songs to a track group and turn Log Scheduler ON, newly added songs are very likely to appear because of how PlayIt Live's Smart Selection scheduling strategy works.

Smart Selection uses a weighted random algorithm where tracks played longer ago are given a larger weight, increasing their chance of being selected. Since newly added songs have never been played before, they receive maximum weight in the selection algorithm, making them extremely likely to be chosen when the scheduler runs.

To prevent all new songs from appearing immediately, you can change your track scheduling strategy. Go to File > Settings > Live-Assist Mode and change the Default track scheduling strategy from Smart Selection to Random (selects tracks entirely at random). However, note that changing from Smart Selection means you lose the benefits of weighted rotation control.

Alternatively, use the Valid From date field on newly imported tracks. Edit new tracks via Manage > Tracks, go to the Scheduling tab, and set a Valid From date in the future. The scheduler will not consider these tracks until after that date, allowing you to add songs in advance without them appearing immediately.
