Track path substitutions are a feature used when PlayIt Live is connected to a remote management server (such as PlayIt Manager) and the audio files are stored on a different machine than where PlayIt Live is running.
Purpose: When PlayIt Live connects to a remote management server, it uses tracks that were added to that server. If the server is on a different machine, the track files won't be accessible to PlayIt Live using their original file paths. Track path substitutions solve this by converting the server file paths to network paths that PlayIt Live can access.
How it works: Track path substitutions are configured on the remote management server (PlayIt Manager) and automatically substitute parts of the original file path with a network-accessible path when track data is synchronised to PlayIt Live.
Example configuration:
If the audio store on PlayIt Manager is located at:
C:\ProgramData\PlayIt Manager\AudioStore
And you create a network share for this folder, you would configure a track path substitution:
C:\ProgramData\PlayIt Manager\AudioStore\\SERVER\AudioStore$Setting up:
Important note: Track path substitutions are only relevant when using PlayIt Live with a remote management server setup. They're not needed for standalone PlayIt Live installations where all files are stored locally.
